When I awoke this morning,
And rose up from where I lay,
I realized that I'd missed the Lord,
In yesterday's hectic day.
I tried to sit and pray to Him,
But I couldn't quite get through.
Those worries and those cares of mine
Made my thoughts just run askew.
My burdens and my troubles came
And crowded in my mind.
My thoughts just ran around my head,
And I was spiritually blind.
I asked the Lord to give me peace
And calm my raging sea.
I said, "My God please come right now,
From burdens, set me free."
And just right then, I felt a peace
I could not understand.
I knew that it was coming from
The Lord's Almighty Hand.
Then I heard a voice that said to me,
"When your burdens, you release,
I'll take them off your shoulders
And turn your burdens into peace."
