A Safe Haven

On a wind-swept sea
The ship has set course.
Safety is not far, and yet
The storm is in full-force.

Each gust, a test,
As the ship is tossed.
CRASH!  A wave,
Yet nothing is lost.

A struggle to stay straight
As the sea urges turn.
An experienced crew are they,
But through this, they'll learn

Eyes strain; scopes trained;
On the east, for a light.
A beacon of hope
Which brings joy when in sight.

A shout!  A cry!
"The land is near by!"
The lighthouse is seen,
From all comes a sigh.

As the ship pulls to port
The crew is at ease.
A safe harbor to come to;
A place of great peace.
